Between you and Rome, im destined for some feedback, lol. Please share your thoughts Sensei. I want to take the design further, so it would be nice to have some thoughts from a Batman vet like yourself.
My gut instinct is WOW!!! Because I'm a fan of your work and how you have 'a style'. But under the microscope of me being hyper critical about Batman and his world and also as an artist who loves good figure work, I have only nit picky issues.... And those are the things that throw me into the abyss of either love or hate. The issue with the figure work is Batman's chest and shoulder area... It is way too small for him being the chest out legs akimbo hero we all know and love... You should always mix the ingredients and cook the cake properly FIRST before you think of decorating it. As far as the look of Bats himself...(costume) My opinion is only that...Just an opinion. I feel the bat on his chest is a bit small... His ears and nose are also tiny as well and I don't quite understand why...??? Not that it's not cool in this piece...I just don't get it. The little ears on Batman's cowl that people do (Jim Lee style) seems odd because the cowl is drawn so form fitted its shows his ears underneath the mask and it gives the impression that Batman has 2 sets of ears. Doesn't that seem odd to you? Also if the cowl is so form fitted then what's the point? What I do love about the drawing is that you can draw your a$$ off and you can make me like (fav) something even though it fights my sensibilities to like it. I dig the energy and I love the mood of it... It's very Gotham and Batman in your own way and I will always champion your ability to convey that to whatever you touch. You have a gift Kid.
OMG, great points man. Im actually going to do another one of this guy utilizing some of this. SOme of it honestly is just me being stylistically inclined toward my own ideas. But most of what you are talking about seems to be some good ideas. Thanks again Sensei.
